Author Notes

Character Complexities The core concept of Roll To Save is rather simple. A group of very different people coming together to play the one game they all enjoy, Dungeons & Dragons. They sometimes hang out together too. Once Tailsteak took over the artistic duties of the comic, he noticed something that I hadn't realized.

It's a sausage-fest! In the initial rough drafts of the script (nearly 7 years ago), had the main cast consist of over 10 characters and they were all men! I was taking the whole 'based on real people and events' concept a little too seriously, wanting to cram everyone I knew into the comic. (I guess I know a lot more guys than girls..) With our initial artist; Kanra, I created Roxanne, the spunky, outspoken activist whom loves to stick to "The Man". But having one girl in a group of guys seemed a little unbalanced. Since then, I've realized that I not only needed some diversity in my cast, but I really wanted it. While writing the wrestling arc, inspiration hit me like a bolt of lightening, I had an idea for a new character.

I've got to say, I'm pretty darn proud of Iris' character. Especially given her spur of the moment, setting inspired creation. She's got quite the story, a few unexpected quirks and quite a few flaws we'll see her work through in the comic. I hope you like her as much as I loved writing her up! <3
